How did I get the idea for AccountableHero & BuildTheCourse?
Well, to be honest, at the time, it just fell into my lap.
I left CoachAccountable (CA), and CA clients still needed help in a big way. It's a powerful platform AND there is a learning curve.
I asked myself. How many people use CA? Is this too niche to start a business?
The answer is no. I'm so lucky that this niche found me.
But, without realizing it, I did something pretty smart... I owned it.
Aside from the founder of CA, I was the world's foremost expert on CA and I let people know.
Nobody else was covering this small, online service making $10k - $20k/month.
Everyone else was focused on building courses for every platform.
Why did my accidentally genius idea work?
- 100% of my leads came from the CA team. This means no marketing spend.
- I had virtually no competition. Believe it or not, at the time, only CA support helped with getting coaches launched, one support ticket at a time.
- Trust - I closed 90% of my sales calls (with no sales experience) because I tapped into my very specific expertise that no one else had.
So, this got me thinking…
Are there other coaching opportunities, but in other niches?
What niches pay the most?
How niche did they go?
And how big can a niche site become?
I put my head down and went down a rabbit hole of research.
My findings surprised me.
I found niches far and wide. Cool stuff, and weird stuff, too. I found businesses and websites that surfaced after COVID and others with the emergence of AI.
All of them have the same thing in common - If you focus on these specific problems, the business model becomes much more manageable & profitable for a soloprenuer.
